Rotherham United move into FA Cup action on Friday night when Stockport County are at the New York Stadium and Ollie Yates from Staffordshire has the whistle.

After refereeing in the National League Ollie was promoted to the Football League for the start of the 2016/17 season.

The only other time Ollie and the Millers have met was also in this competition in November 2019 when the Millers travelled to York Road to take on National League side Maidenhead United. The hosts took the lead on twenty-five minutes with a Jake Cassidy goal against run of play and some good defending and fine goalkeeping kept them in front. But on fifty-four minutes a bad challenge on Ben Wiles saw the hosts down to ten men with Alan Massey receiving his marching orders. A good goal from Michael Ihiekwe saw the visitors equalise on the sixty-ninth minute followed by further goals from Freddie Ladapo and Jake Hastie giving the Millers a three-one win. The only yellow of the game went to Rotherham’s Billy Jones.

This season Ollie has shown thirty-two yellow cards and one red card in the ten games he has been in the middle for.

Running the line on Friday night we have Steven Plane and Bradley Hall and the Fourth Official will be Matthew Smith.
