Rotherham United Chairman, Denis Coleman, spoke about ex-manager, Alan Knill, today on Radio Sheffield.

Alan Knill told the media that he should have fought harder to keep either Will Hoskins and Lee Williamson or both but didn’t believe he could financially do that.

Denis Coleman was less than complimentary about that statement and said, ‘Alan took Will and his mum out for a meal and I expected Will coming back and signing a new contract, but his agent got involved and that was that. I don’t blame Will, he’s earning a great wage at Watford. Lee Williamson would have walked away at the end of the season for nothing. They were both offered good contracts but both opted to leave.’

A fan phoned the show and asked him about Alan Knill’s signings, ‘Alan picked the players he wanted to bring in – that’s nothing to do with me, it’s the managers job.’ The fan went on to ask about Scott McGleish and Leon Knight.’We looked at Scott McGleish but he lives in Wycombe and that’s why he signed for them. Alan Knill never mentioned Leon Knight.’
