Club Will Only Accept Right Offer For Defender

|

Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne told Paul Davis of the Rotherham Advertiser that there had been clubs interested in twenty-three year old Ben Purrington.

Ben joined the Millers in January 2017 from Plymouth Argyle for what, at the time, was reported to be £300,000 making his debut the following month away at Bristol City. He went on to make another nine appearances that first season and the following season saw him play in just twelve games. Last season Ben went out on loan to AFC Wimbledon before being recalled to the New York Stadium in January and sent straight back out on loan to Charlton who he helped get promoted to the Championship via the Play-Off’s scoring the first goal in a two-one win over Sunderland at Wembley.

Speaking to The Advertiser, Warney said that ‘if the right offer’ comes in for the defender then the club won’t ‘stand in his way’.  (Ed Note – I feel like shouting ‘Hallelujah’.  How long as it took us to realise this?)
