Anybody Back For The Weekend?

Looking ahead to the game on Saturday at the New York Stadium against Nottingham Forest, Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne told iFOLLOW that new Welsh International Will Vaulks won’t walk straight back into the starting eleven.

Although he got his first two caps for Wales during the International break, Vaulks has been missing for the Millers through suspension after his early sending off at Bramall Lane with the Rotherham Boss saying, ”Before last weekend we’d done well without him.’

Well, I don’t know who is fooling who and despite Warney saying they have people who can play in midfield as well as him, I can’t see Will Vaulks being on the bench on Saturday.

Striker Michael Smith didn’t play last weekend as he was suffering from a bug which hampered his breathing with Warne saying he was a ‘huge miss’ but should be back for the Forest game and while Kyle Vassell, coming back from injury, played in the mid-week Reserve win, he probably won’t be fit to start but, if needed, might have a place on the bench. Also in contention the Millers will have Clark Robertson who also played in the reserve game coming back from a hamstring problem.

Also playing for the Reserves in mid-week, Warney wouldn’t rule out some minutes on the pitch for Darren Potter who is returning from injury, before the end of the season, although this weekend will perhaps be too early for him.

So looking for a starting eleven I’d think it could be –

Rodak
Vyner – if fit
Jones
Mattock – if fit
Vaulks
Ihiekwe
Ajayi
Taylor
Williams
Wiles
Smith – if fit

although there is, in my mind, a case for starting Matt Crooks and, if fit, I’d definitely go with Clark Robertson.

What about you?
