A Productive Week For Millers

|

It’s been three weeks since Rotherham United’s season ended and this week sees the end of domestic football in England.

This has been quite a productive week for the Millers the most important happening probably being the first close season signing which sees the return of forward Carlton Morris for a season long loan from Norwich City.

More good news is that both Will Vaulks and Ryan Williams have been called up for their international squads – Will hoping to get a second cap for Wales and Ryan getting his first call up for Australia’s squad ahead of their game with South Korea early next month. How good is this news for Rotherham United.

Chairman Tony Stewart told us this week that he is thrilled to have Paul Warne in charge of the team and that he believes he is the ‘man to take us forward’.

We also found out this week that South Yorkshire company Hodge Clemco who have sponsored the home shirt for three seasons will now sponsor the back of the team shorts for the home and two away kits. The home shirt sponsor for the 2019/20 season will be embark.

The back pages of the Rotherham Advertiser tells us that although the Millers four wingers have been offered new deals none have got back to the club yet so Manager Paul Warne is expecting more are going to leave than stay.

Rotherham have confirmed their training camp in Germany from 8th to 15th July with one game pencilled in which is for Sunday, 14th July at the Elm-Stadion, Elmstraße, 38364 Schöningen. This game has yet to be confirmed.

The Millers also confirmed that they will play pre-season home friendlies against Premier League side Leicester City, Championship side West Bromwich Albion and away against National League outfit Bradford Park Avenue.

So, what will next week bring? Will we get to know how many wingers we will have on the books? Will we get more new players in? Will our ‘prize assets’ decide to try their luck away from the New York Stadium? Or will it all be quiet?
