Rotherham United have only 21 points left to play for in this year’s battle in the Championship.

With the games dwindling down now at the real business end of the campaign as Rotherham United find themselves heading towards the end of May, the unfortunate truth is relegation into League One this year is now the future following the defeat to Fulham last weekend.

With caretaker manager Paul Warne admitting avoiding the drop was as likely as him ‘growing his hair back’, the simple truth is that eyes have to now turn to the future and with 21 points left to play for make a real attempt at ending the season on some kind of high and with some form that can be taken into the campaign of 2017/18.

Whilst there’s a couple of more favourable ties ahead that maybe with the pressure off now that can be taken advantage of, equally there are still some incredibly tough matches still to get through.

The phenomenal change in fortunes didn’t come in time to avoid the drop as we suffered our 30th defeat of the season, but 21 points still available could at least change how people’s perceptions on the year are remembered and give the fans a few cheers in the final weeks of the campaign.
