Carrying on from the article earlier this week What Will The Millers Do In The January Window? we now ask the question ‘which players, if any, will be transferred’?

Rotherham United – I’m imagining – won’t want to be losing players for nothing in the summer like we did the summer just gone. We have a full team of players out of contract in the summer, namely, Dan Barlaser, Shane Ferguson, Wes Harding, Robbie Hemfrey, Jake Hull, Viktor Johansson, Chieo Ogbene, Lee Peltier, Josh Vickers, Ben Wiles and Richard Wood and I’d like to see new contracts on the table sooner rather than later.

Just looking through those names and come July1st we could actually be without a goalkeeper with most of the others out of contract are our main starting players.

So, to make sure we get some money for at least some of the players would it be better sell them in the January window?

We know that last summer Ben Wiles, Chieo Ogbene and Dan Barlaser were names being bandied about by other clubs’ fans and I’m assuming that clubs will come in for them at the start of next year. But, should that happen, will we sell them? Or would it be better to hang on to them to ensure a good chance of stopping in the Championship?

Personally, I’d be surprised if Richard Wood, Shane Ferguson or Wes Harding left although, of course, nothing perhaps should surprise you in football.

Should any of our players leave in January I hope we hang out for the proper price and don’t give them away like we’ve done in the past. Most of those players are invaluable to Rotherham United and it’s going to take some money – and probably good luck – to entice others as good to take their place.

Time, as we know, will tell. But what do you think?
