Tonight’s Stats – Millers v ‘Boro

|

Despite taking an early lead Rotherham United continued their woeful home form by losing two-one to Middlesbrough after going down to ten men on the seventeenth minute.

Not surprisingly the ten men of Rotherham only had thirty-three per cent possession this evening and had three corners to ‘Boro’s thirteen. The Millers passing accuracy in their opponents half came out at fifty-two per cent while we had two hundred and twenty-nine passes to the visitors’ four hundred and eighty-seven.

Attack wise we had six shots at goal of which one was on target with ‘Boro having five on target from twenty-five shots. Two of our shots were outside the box with Middlesbrough’s shots being about equal – half inside and half outside the box.

The Millers conceded twelve fouls to Middlesbrough’s fourteen and of the five yellow cards two went to Rotherham and three to the visitors.

On the back of so many games in quick succession this was always going to be a difficult game for Rotherham but to go down to ten so early in the game it proved to be nigh-on impossible.

The table isn’t looking good and we are running out of games but we could still get out of this. I suppose it would be a bit of a  miracle but miracles do happen.

  • Stuart webster says:

Loss number three in a row and the return to league one is a formality , hope tony stewart doesn’t expect us to pay for season tickets etc for next season if fans are allowed back into ground s , surely he will be paying us to come watch the woeful millers , championship stability more like this current team should all be on disability ,complete shower of S***

    • Caz Neale (Herringthorpe) says:

I’m not really sure we can take a lot from the stats from last night to be fair, Stuart. The red card alongside our weary looking players did for us. As for not paying for season tickets I think you might be living in cloud cuckoo land over that one!
