The Stats – Millers v Imps

|

Rotherham United got a point at the LNER Stadium (Sincil Bank) in the re-arranged game with Lincoln City yesterday evening in a game of football that I think did League One proud.

But what do those stats tell us?

Well they say that Lincoln had more possession citing fifty-three per cent to the Millers forty-seven – me, I think it was probably more like fifty/fifty. Rotherham had eight corners to the hosts’ five with City winning sixty-two per cent of the aerial duels.

Our passing accuracy in our opponents half comes out at sixty-per cent and seventy per cent altogether with Rotherham winning seventy-five per cent of our tackles. We conceded nineteen fouls (well ….) and had two yellow cards to the Imps’ one.

The Millers had a whacking twenty-six shots with eight of those being on target (and, I believe, eight that would have gone in if it hadn’t been for a fine display of goalkeeping from Lincoln’s number one). Nineteen of those shots were inside the box. The hosts had three shots on target from nine.

It was a pretty good attacking display from Rotherham last night and, in fairness, not too bad a display at the back either. In fact, a whole round team display. Which is a hundred per cent better than Saturday.

There was a change of referee last night with Samuel Barrott having the whistle – a ref the Millers haven’t met before.
