Rotherham United Manager Matt Taylor told Radio Sheffield that it’s difficult for a club like Rotherham United to replace quality players.

With the January transfer window looming (and looming, I think is the right word this season) there have already been rumours about other Championship clubs looking (maybe even making offers) for some of our players. As fans we don’t want to hear this but it is part of the game and I think we have to probably accept that one, two or maybe more of our players won’t be hear for the beginning of February.

Saying it’s ‘part and parcel’ for a club like the Millers in the Championship to lose players who are out of contract the Millers Boss really hopes the Board will be strong enough to keep players he wants too throughout the January window.

”It’s difficult to replace players who contribute week-in, week-out but for every player we lose for what it seems is no financial reward we do get the playing reward for all of the season, bar injuries,’ Matt said.

‘Every player is different, every circumstance is different, every offer is different. But money talks and we have to take each and every moment on it’s merit and give it due thought while making sure we have all the information at hand and make sensible decisions.

‘I presume this has what has happened in the past and I’m hopeful this is what will happen in the future.

‘No-one has said ‘yes’ or ‘no’ right now (to a new contract offer). But we are working as hard as we possibly can and putting our best in front of these players and I’m sure we will get some sort of clarity in the next few weeks.’

I’m just hoping that we don’t give any player who has been offered a new contract too long to say ‘aye’ or ‘nay’ and then end up with nobody left to bring in.
