Stats Time – Millers Away At Southend

|

Freddie Ladapo gained Rotherham United an away point yesterday after firstly going in front to coming from two-one down at Southend.

It wasn’t the most exciting games with the Millers having slightly more possession than the hosts and having fourteen corners to Southend’s five.

Passing accuracy was about even from both sides with the home team having a better crossing accuracy percentage. Rotherham’s seventeen shots at goal saw six on target while the Shrimpers had three shots on target from fourteen.

Fouls conceded show the Millers adding up to sixteen and Southend having thirteen with five yellow cards going to the visitors to just one for the hosts.

I know we often raise our eyebrows at the stats but we might have to stop raising our eyebrows at our midfield and defence and do something about it in the January sales because I really don’t think we can keep playing our ‘get out of jail’ card and relying on playing just ten minutes here and ten minutes there. It was never going to be easy in League One despite what a lot of us thought and, I fear, we are now finding out that we are lacking in certain areas on the pitch.
