Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne has said on more than one occasion that if he fetches someone in during the January Transfer Window it will have to be someone who fits in with the players he’s already got – and not just on the pitch but also in the dressing room.

Former Manager Steve Evans called it ‘no bad apples’ when he made the same observation when he was in charge of the Millers.

Nobody wants to upset the apple cart – if you’ve got a settled dressing room it could be worth points on the pitch, I think that’s obvious.

So, not wanting to upset anyone/the apple cart/the dressing room could it be that Rotherham might consider fetching in someone who they know won’t do that – someone who has already been with the Millers?

Obviously Kieffer Moore is the one we all think of but what of other former players.

My mind is turning to Ben Pringle who played over one hundred and fifty times in a Rotherham shirt between 2011 and 2015. Although he sometimes divided the Millers fans he was mostly a favourite among the faithful in the stands, even more so because he scored against rivals Sheffield Wednesday.

Since leaving the New York Stadium Prings has played for Fulham, had a loan spell with Ipswich and ended up at Preston North End where he is currently out of favour.

So, could there be a possible return for the midfielder? Or is it a case of ‘never look back’?

What do you think?
