RUFC – Who Would You Start For The Millers Tomorrow

Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne is probably going to have a tough task picking his starting eleven for tomorrows game against Southend United.

He obviously thought last Saturday’s team was the way to go but made a number of changes for the Cup game on Tuesday night.

OK maybe the team didn’t perform as well as expected against Fleetwood but weren’t there a couple of players you’d like to still see in the side? And yes, it was a good performance on Tuesday night but, no disrespect to The Imps, but Lincoln are a League Two side (albeit on that performance quite a good League Two side).

I think we all know that despite a bit of a mix up on Tuesday night which led to Lincoln’s goal, both Goalkeeper Richard O’Donnell and defender Semi Ajayi will be in the team.

I was quite impressed with Josh Emmanuel and expect him to start and like the previous three Joe Mattock has started both games and can’t really see that changing.

Then, I think comes the first dilema. Would you stick with Will Vaulks who was one of Rotherham’s better players last season or would you go with Michael Ihiekwe. Or maybe have both in?

I’m sure skipper Lee Frecklington will start and Darren Potter did nothing wrong on Tuesday night. Anthony Forde scored so I’d expect him to start although I thought Joe Newell did a good job on Tuesday too getting some balls into the box although I do like to see Jon Taylor running down the wing.

You really can’t not have Jamie Proctor in the starting eleven can you? But what of Kieffer Moore, who was Vital Rotherham’s Man of the Match on Tuesday and David Ball who has had nothing but praise from Warney? Then there’s Ryan Williams who would get in most teams and what of Jono, does he deserve a go?

Would you play two or three up front – or maybe you’d put just one up front?

For the first time in a long, long time the Millers have actually got strikers ‘left over’ which can only be good if a bit of a headache for the Management team!

If I was the Manager (and thank the Lord I’m not, sir), this would be my starting eleven against Southend – what about yours?

O’Donnell

Emmanuel
Ajayi
Mattock
Ihiekwe

Frecklington
Potter
Forde
Taylor

Proctor
Moore
