Rotherham United’s Nicky Law was one of the players the Millers’ fans thought the club would be hard pressed to hang onto in the January Transfer window.

The twenty-one year old joined the Millers in the summer last year and straight away seemed to ‘boss’ the side, being the player, most fans, would have put first on the team sheet every week. He was one of the players that we all thought would take us into League One and probably beyond.

And, it’s widely rumoured that Blackpool made an offer for Nicky in January, which was immediately turned down by Chairman, Tony Stewart, saying there was no intention of selling the best player in the team.

But, since then, Nicky has suffered a dip in form and seems to be struggling out there to get back to how he was at the start of the season. A couple of weeks ago he publicly said the pitch at Don Valley ‘drains your energy’, but, to be honest, it isn’t only Don Valley he’s not living up to what is expected.

He seems to drift in and out of games lately and his crosses don’t seem to be quite as accurate.

Manager, Ronnie Moore told Les Payne of The Star, that Nicky is ‘just not at it.’

‘I’d heard all about him when I came here.’ Moore said, ‘but lately he’s just not producing the form that everyone tells me he can produce. It’s frustrating and it needs addressing and sorting out which means a conversation between him and me.’

Let’s hope that whatever is in that conversation works. We need Nicky Law back to his best to worry defenders and produce the bustling style of play we all know he can do.
