Rotherham United’s caretaker Manager, Steve Thornber believes today’s game was his last in charge and that the club will appoint a new man at the helm either on Thursday or Friday next week, before the Barnet game at Don Valley next Saturday.

Speaking to Radio Sheffield, Thornber said, ‘They are interviewing next week and I would think there will be a new manager in for the Barnet game. Obviously, whoever it is can’t just step in and pick the side – he will need preparing. They may have watched the games but they don’t know the lads inside out and I think the handover will be crucial.

‘Hopefully, after dropping points this week and last, when we get someone in, they can kick-on. I believe we will be up there at the end of the season.’
