Rotherham United striker, Ryan Taylor, says he was pleased to be back in the side yesterday but gutted that the team did so well in the first half and lost.

Speaking to RotherFM, the twenty year old said, ‘I thought we were brilliant in the first half but we just couldn’t stick our chances in the back of the net. I had a chance in the first few minutes and I think I should have had a shot with my right foot but put it onto my left and got blocked. I think they had two shots on target and scored them both. At one-nil Drewe Broughton had a header and the ‘keeper pushed it onto the crossbar and it came down but it’s not gone over the line. Then their lad went on a good run and I think he really tried to cross the ball and it got a bounce and went in for their second which really deflated us. Everyone thinks we played well but didn’t take our chances and there are some positives to take out of the game.

‘We’ve a long trip to Exeter on Tuesday but I think having this game is a good thing for us. If we had to wait until next Saturday for a game then everyone would be just thinking about things. I think we can go there and get a win.

‘I just wanted to get back into the team and show people what I can do and I hope I can keep my place now and do my stuff.’
