Rotherham United striker, Ryan Taylor has joined in training this week after fracturing his metatarsal in pre-season and has said that he`s getting there ‘slowly.`

Speaking to MillersPlayer the twenty-two year old said, ‘I`ve been running for a week now and another week or so and a Reserve game and I should be something like.

‘It`s been a frustrating time for me but you`ve just got to take things like this on the chin and get on with it. I`m going to work as hard as I can and hopefully I can get back in the team, push on from there and state my claim again.

‘There`s a lot of competition for places this season and it makes people work harder and when you do get a place in the team you have to try and hold onto that shirt.

Asked about the loan spell he had with Exeter City last season, Ryan said, ‘It made me grow up as a person and definitely helped me. I`d been sat here for two years and kind of at a dead end and not improving so to go there and do well in the games I played for them and then to come back here and do what I did was a good achievement.`

Asked when he is targeting a come back to the side Ryan said, ‘I think two weeks would be a good target for me and then two reserve games to get my match sharpness and fitness back.`
