RUFC – Striker hoping to get his first goal

Rotherham United striker, Ian Thomas-Moore says that his father, Ronnie, is very disappointed.

Ian told MillersPlayer, ‘He’s obviously down. I think he thinks that things should have been left until the end of the season and he’s very disappointed at the moment.’ Ian will be used to this as the same thing happened when he was at Tranmere and his father got the sack. ‘Yes, the same thing happened at Tranmere and John Barnes came in and that season I ended up with fifteen goals so hopefully this is a spur for me to start scoring a few goals.

‘We’re all having a good laugh at the moment and there’s good banter but that was there before. It’s going to be a learning process for Andy Liddell and Paul Warne and hopefully these nine game will go well for them and maybe they will get the job.

‘Since I’ve come here I’ve played on the left and right wing which isn’t my ideal position. Obviously I enjoy scoring goals and I haven’t scored a goal yet for the club so it’s almost vital for me to get a goal in the next couple of games. Hopefully I could do that on Friday but who knows if I’m going to start or not but it’s important for me to score sooner rather than later. It’s the longest I’ve gone without a goal and it’s a little bit disappointing but I can’t really say I`ve been missing chances left, right and centre. I think I’ve probably been doing a little bit too much work left and right and doubling up for full-backs. I haven’t been getting in the box enough so, hopefully, if I get a chance to play up front I’ll be able to turn things round.’
