Rotherham United Chairman, Tony Stewart, says that his favourite memory of Rotherham United was when the team won the Auto Windscreen Shield at Wembley.

Speaking to The Star Mr Stewart says, ‘I speak to Mickey Walker of Doncaster quite regularly and he still talks about how Rovers won the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy and what a fantastic day it was for the whole town. After what our fans and the town has been though in the last few years it would be great to give Rotherham something similar.’

The Millers take on Darlington tonight in the Area Semi-Final of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy at Don Valley. The other tie is between ex Millers Manager, Ronnie Moore’s Tranmere and Scunthorpe.

‘Darlington are a very good side and it will be a tough game,’ Mr Stewart carried on. But, if we beat them and get to face Tranmere Rovers in the Northern Final what interest that would create!

‘We are getting to the stage where the competition can start to be lucrative and it would be great for the players to progress because they’ve been through a lot. The opportunity to get through and get to Wembley is so close you can almost touch it.’
