Rotherham United Captain, Ian Sharps says that Mark Robins will be missed but that the club have to stick together.

Speaking to The Star, Sharps said, ‘Considering he hadn’t had any experience as a manager, Mark’s done a great job here. They’ve been testing circumstances for him but he’s come in and done a great job including keeping us up last season. I have no grudges with him going to Barnsley, players want to play at the top level and managers want to test themselves at the highest level they can.

‘I was surprised that Barnsley sacked their manager when they did but, if we’d lost our next ten games, Mark might have been sacked. You know where you stand with Mark and you can’t blame him for wanting to take this opportunity.’

Rotherham are flying high at the top of League Two at the moment and Sharps carried on, ‘It’s important, as a club, that we all stick together now and keep performing. That’s what the fans will expect.’
