Rotherham United Manager, Andy Scott that staff and players alike have to take responsibility and move on from the four-nil drubbing last weekend by Southend United.

Speaking to MillersPlayer Scott said, ‘People knew they’d made mistakes and have to make sure it doesn’t happen again.

‘We came in on the Sunday and watched the DVD and we were very critical making points that are very clear and will continue to make those points. Some people were embarrassed, some were disappointed, others were frustrated and annoyed and we needed to make sure that it was clear that we aren’t going to accept those sort of things happening again.

‘When you looked at the actual game it was very clear where our deficiencies lay and that was from direct play. Southend had a game plan that they stuck too and they carried it out to the letter and we didn’t do that which is disappointing. We’ve been doing different things in training this week to try and let players have the responsibility themselves when things change that we can’t affect directly from the touchline.

‘Tactically, as a team, we have been good going forward but defensively we’ve been making some poor errors and, when you do that, you need to look at the personal and if they keep making the same mistakes there will have to be changes and I’ve got no problem with making those changes.

‘But, we’ve only lost twice and are two points off the top but given the last few results when we should have been four points better off than we are then it leaves a bit of a sour taste in the mouth. But, we’ve got to concentrate on Saturday and make sure that and make sure that we re-act from the disappointments.’
