Rotherham United Manager, Andy Scott gave the reasons for leaving out
Ryan Cresswell and Jason Taylor from the starting eleven today against Barnet.

Speaking to Radio Sheffield, Scott said, ‘Both lads got a knock on Tuesday and, after watching the DVD, we felt that both of them were very tired as well.

‘The effort that both of them put in, especially Jaybo, with the position he plays he covers a lot of ground. He didn`t like the decision but he accepted it and the same with Cress. He got a knock on Tuesday and we wanted to make sure that we didn`t have too many with tiredness and knocks, But I thought Bradley came in and did very well and Danny Harrison was solid again.

‘I wanted to change it because I wanted more legs in there but, ironically, we were a bit lacklustre in the first half.`

Asked about the changes he made at half-time, Scott said they were purely tactical. Off went Dale Tonge and Lewis Grabban to be replaced by Marcus Marshall and Chris Holroyd.

Speaking after the two-all draw with Barnet, Scott said, ‘I thought Tongey was a bit sloppy in the first half and that we needed a bit more threat. I thought Marshy did well when he came on.

‘I changed it to 4-4-2 and Grabbs was very tired and we understand the reasons for that and it can`t be blamed on him. And Chrissie came on and worked ever so hard and him and Alfie linked up pretty well. Didn`t get the ball in with enough quality some times but they grafted and worked for their chances and we were threatening their defenders which is why they put another centre-half on at the end.`
