Rotherham United loanee, Ian Ross, finally got his chance in the first team in today’s three-nil win over Wrexham.

Ross, on loan from Sheffield United, came to Millmoor about six weeks ago hoping for some first team action, although, manager, Mark Robins did tell him that he couldn’t promise him that he would get any.

Today, as Mark Hudson was out due to an illness, Ross came in to cover the midfield roll and he didn’t do himself any harm either.

Robins, talking to MillersWorld said, ‘Ian Ross was excellent today. He was everything I expected he would be and more besides. He’s been patient sitting on the sidelines and he needed this game.

‘There is more to come from him as he is quality and he has taken his chance well.’

When he first arrived at Millmoor, twenty-one year old Ross, was hoping that his loan spell would lead to a permanent move – well, if the manager is saying you are quality that could well happen.
