Rotherham United midfielder Darren Potter was back in full training today since an Achilles injury has kept him out since the beginning of December.

The thirty-three year old joined the Millers in the summer and made quite an impression on Millers fans making eighteen appearances until coming off just before the twenty-five minute spot against Bristol Rovers.

Speaking to iFOLLOW the Millers Boss Paul Warne said, ‘It’s good news and it’s nice to have him back in the group.’

This is the second time Pots has had a lay-off while being with the Millers, the first time things didn’t go so well when he was out but, to be honest, the Millers haven’t lost since that Bristol game and I think he might have a problem getting back into the starting eleven, if not the match day squad.

‘He will struggle to get back in the side,’ Warney said, ‘but then again unless you were Messi you probably would at the moment.

‘He is a long way off playing anyway. He’s only just starting to kick a ball again and we are hoping to get some minutes into him. Realistically we are looking to drip-feed him into the squad in the next couple of weeks.’

Asked about the other long term injured player Jamie Proctor, Warney said, ‘He’s coming on great although the physio’s tell me he’s not and won’t talk to me about him. They don’t want me to get excited! But I believe he could be on the grass by the end of the season which will be a reward to him for all the hard work he’s put in.’

Be ready for the play-offs then??
