Rotherham United’s new manager, Ronnie Moore says, ‘It feels magnificent to be back.’

Speaking at the Press Conference at Don Valley, Moore said, ‘I love the place and the fans were fantastic when I was here before, even in the last dodgy year they stood by me. My heart has always been here.

‘The pleasing thing for me is that I know the supporters have been shouting for me to be boss here but the Chairman made me wait and grilled me – it wasn’t handed to me.’

Speaking about his three year plan for the Millers, Moore said, ‘There’s no doubt about it, the three year plan includes us playing in the Championship. That puts pressure on the Manager but that’s what football is about. I think the squad here is more than capable of getting out of this division this year.

‘I think with experience I have become a better Manager. I’ve definitely mellowed though I am still a ranter and a raver. But you do learn, as a Manager, to become more composed.

‘People keep talking about the Ronnie Moore long ball but I don’t know where that comes from because we had wingers last time I was here and we got crosses into the box. There are times when the long ball is necessary but I want to state here and now that Ronnie Moore is not a long ball Manager.’
