Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne told iFOLLOW that he thought the rested players on Tuesday night had looked a bit jaded.

‘Josh (Emmanuel) and Bally (David Ball) have been part of our amazing run,’ the Millers Boss said, ‘but I thought they looked a little bit jaded.

‘And it’s not that I rested them as such, but there were different players to go in and I’ve got to be fair to the squad. It’s not good playing the same eleven every week if they are looking jaded.’

Caolan Lavery made his first start on Tuesday night with Warney saying, ‘I thought he looked really game.

‘They way they (MK Dons) played we knew with a back three we’d probably be able to get down the sides of them which is why I went with Lavs and not Bally. Bally is more of a number ten and we’ve not been passing the ball enough to him lately so it was a no brainer for me to play Lavs. I was pleased for him that he got a start because he substitute performances have been really admirable.

‘And I thought when Jerry (Yates) came on to replace Lavs he continued with the same effort.’

A positive coming from today is that Jamie Proctor got his all clear from the specialist on the knee injury that has kept him out of the side since August. Warney was hoping he’d be back training with the squad in around four weeks.
