Rotherham United defender Joe Mattock was sent-off in the dying stages of the defeat away at Bradford City this afternoon after getting a second yellow card.

He was booked on the hour mark for for fouling Alex Gilliead and booked again, resulting in an early bath, for the same foul on the same player four minutes into five added on at the end of the game.

After the game, Millers Manager Paul Warne told iFOLLOW that the second booking was a yellow card offence.

‘I won’t tell lies,’ Warney said, ‘it was definitely a second yellow.

‘It’s poor from Joe. He’s a senior pro and he should have stayed on his feet.

‘This has given Ben Purrington the chance to come in and if he does well he’ll keep the shirt.

‘One drops out one steps in.’

This is Joe’s second red for the Millers, his first being at Birmingham in February 2016.
