Rotherham United defender Joe Mattock says that it was disappointing to lose on Saturday but the Millers have to take the positives on the unbeaten run they’d been on before then.

Speaking to iFOLLOW the twenty-seven year old said, ‘We’ve played some real quality in the last fourteen or so games and we’ve now got to pick our heads up and move on.

‘It was a bit of a disappointing performance on Saturday for the fans and we know that so we’ve got to kick-on in the next few games and take each game as it comes.

‘Rochdale were a good side who seemed to be very organised and with them being mainly defensive it meant our attacking play was breaking down quite a lot. And they had the energy to burst away when they’d been defending which is something we’ve got to learn how to deal with in the future. I don’t think Rochdale will go down.

‘Maybe we were getting a bit complacent and this loss will give us a bit of a learning curve and if we go on another run you don’t know what will happen.

‘We’ve got to make sure we can play how we know we can and put pressure on the teams above.’
