Rotherham United announced eleven days ago that they had filed a notice of intention to appoint an administrator and since then it has been pretty quiet off the field at Millmoor.

But, the clubs Chairman, Denis Coleman has told The Advertiser that there have been four different parties showing an interest. ‘I have spoken to four different investors,’ Mr Coleman said, ‘all are British. One of those was local but we have totally disregarded that one. The other three came forward as individuals, but, of course, may be frontment for others and I am busy checking them out.’

The Chairman says he has had other interest but not all were genuine, ‘one guy phoned and said he had millions to invest but it was obvious to me that he was a journalist trying to get information and he never phoned back. I suspect others were supporters on an ego trip trying to find things out. But we would not divulge information over the phone.

‘We will only accept help from people who have the best interests of Rotherham United at heart.’
