This will be only the seventh meeting between Macclesfield and Rotherham, the last game being a League Trophy game in 2005/06 season when Macclesfield came to Millmoor and won 2-1 with the Millers goal coming from loanee Paul Evans and Jonathan Parkin and Kevin Sandwith got the goals for the visitors.
In the four League Two games between the teams the Millers have won two and there has been two draws. And in 1987/88 the Millers visited Moss Rose in the FA Cup, with the Silkmen coming out on top by four goals to nil.
