A few facts and figures on the Millers v the Spireites
Rotherham United entertain Chesterfield at Don Valley on Saturday for what will be a third verses fifth encounter.
The Spireites were, at one stage, Rotherham`s ‘voodoo` team, when the Millers fans never expected to win against them but in the last ten encounters the Millers have won six of the games.
This same fixture last season saw the then managerless Rotherham go top of League Two after three second half Millers goals cancelled out a Jamie Lowry twenty-first minute penalty. Scorers for the Millers that day were Danny Harrison, Adam Le Fondre and Kevin Ellison.
With Chesterfield moving to a new stadium this season, the last game the Millers played at Saltergate was at the end of January and a Tom Pope goal in the last minute of the game was enough to give the visitors all three points. It also stopped the Chesterfield fans singing, to Ronnie Moore, ‘you’ll never beat the Spireites’!
