A few facts and figures of previous games between the Millers and the Bantams
This will be the third meeting between Rotherham United and Bradford City this season but the first one at the New York Stadium.
The teams latterly met in the Checkatrade Trophy which saw goals from Jerry Yates, Jonson Clarke-Harris (from the penalty spot) and Richard Towell gave the Millers a three-nil win before half-time.
The game in September at Valley Parade was a one-nil win for the hosts. Romain Vincelot scored the only goal of the game on the twenty-first minute with the Millers going down to ten men when Joe Mattock saw red in the final minute of the game.
The Millers and Bantams last met at the New York Stadium on a Friday night live on TV in 2014 which ended goalless.
In September 2012 the two met in League Two at the New York when Michael O’Connor opened the scoring in the first minutes for the hosts. Gareth Evans and Ben Pringle made it three-nil going into the break with Evans getting his second and the Millers fourth four minutes from the end of the game.
The last time the Bantams beat the Millers in a ‘home’ game was at Don Valley in March 2010. The game began with a minutes applause for Keith Alexander who had recently died. There wasn’t a lot of play in the first half but Andy Warrington was the busier of the two ‘keepers in the second half but could do nothing to stop Michael Flynn open the scoring on the hour mark. A handball given against Flynn in the ninetieth minute of the game resulted in a penalty which Adam Le Fondre put away but in the fourth minute of time added on James Hanson jumped the highest from a corner and put the ball into the back of the net to make it two-one to the visitors.
