Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans says that the Millers are ‘ahead of schedule` in the plans he brought with him when he joined nearly two years ago.
The Millers are putting in a serious challenge for the Championship and are well on their way to securing a play-off spot in League One.
Speaking to Les Payne of The Star the Millers Boss said, ‘The aim when I joined the club was to be in this position three years from now so we are ahead of schedule and giving it our best shot. But, as far as the season is going, we are on schedule and I think we are a few wins of guaranteeing a play-off place.
‘We have always been looking upwards and if those above us slip then we are ready to pounce.
‘We now need to make sure we deliver because it would be a travesty otherwise.`
Speaking about his players the Gaffer said he had always believed in them, ‘There are people in this division who disrespect our players because they don`t rate them or think we should be where we are. Well I think they are a fantastic group and I`m very proud and fortunate to work with them because we have boys here with real talent.`
