Rotherham United`s defender, Andy Nicholas has joined Mansfield Town on loan for the rest of the season and will become effective tomorrow at noon.

With Nicholas moving on, Millers Manager, Ronnie Moore will hope this will free up some cash so that he can strengthen the squad and he told Radio Sheffield, ‘We need to bring in another experienced centre-half. We also need a midfield player.’

Former Under 19`s club captain for Liverpool, Nicholas, joined the Millers from Swindon Town in August 2008, after being Swindon`s longest serving player.

Andy, known for his long throw ins, has started nine games for the Millers this season, the last one being against Shrewsbury in December.
