Rotherham United fans have been a little bemused with the fact that ‘new boy’ Alex Bray has been stuck on the bench and given very little game time since his arrival from Swansea City in January.

The twenty-one year old, who originally joined on loan before signing a permanent deal in March, has played less than forty-five minutes throughout four games, each time coming off the bench.

Speaking to The Rotherham Advertiser Millers Boss Paul Warne said the winger ‘might ‘make an appearance’ in the final three games of the season.

‘We had Alex in the office the other day wanting to know what he could do to get in the team but he needs to be stronger and a bit more physical. We are trying to build him up and he’s doing a lot of work in the gym. Whether he is strong enough to be put in before the end of the season, possibly. Although there have been a few games where I have considered throwing him on.

‘He has a lot to give and I`m conscious what people say about giving young lads a chance but I also want to be competitive in all the games. Once he has a proper man`s pre-season with us he will be a different player.’

Bray himself says, ‘I’m waiting, I’m ready, but it’s the manager’s decision, he knows best and hopefully when I do get a chance I’ll take it.
