The sacking, earlier this week of Huddersfield Town boss Peter Jackson, could have a knock on effect on Millers caretaker boss, Mark Robins landing the job on a full time basis.
Huddesfield’s West Yorkshire neighbours, Bradford City are also scouting for a new manager following the departure of Colin Todd.
So Rotherham could face competition from the others should they wish to choose from a list of possible candidates.
The Millers made a flying start to Robins caretaker spell with a 4-1 victory over Bradford on Saturday and they may eventually decide that they already have the right man in place.
It has been confirmed that Robins will be in charge of the team for Saturday’s home game with Port Vale.
On his current role, Mark told the Rotherham Star, ‘I’ve enjoyed every minute; it’s a challenge. It was a great result last week and gives everybody involved with the club some confidence.’
