There is no doubt that even though he was only at Rotherham United for a relatively short time, Nigel’s name is firmly etched in the club’s history books because he scored both goals in the Millers’ 2-1 win at Wembley against Shrewsbury Town in the Auto Windscreens Shield final on April 14th,1996.
He had had a host of clubs before his arrival at Millmoor where he showed his goal scoring touch with nine goals in 19 games.
In addition to the two goals in the final, he netted a double in the second leg of the area final of that competition at Carlisle United who were beaten 2-0.
