Low Crowds….

Image for Low Crowds….

Today the millers chairman is quoted in the Rotherham Advertiser as being concerned about the low crowds for recent games. His quote is that ‘the club is bending over backwards to get people through the turnstyles but to no avail’.

In recent games especially midweek ones the club has failed to attract a gate of 4,000 even though the game against Norwich was reduced prices. The only exception to this was the recent game against our neighbours Doncaster Rovers which attracted a gate of 6,000+.

The main two problems which are in my opinion causing this are the hike in season ticket prices and our local clubs all having successful seasons last year.

I do believe the club is going about attracting new supporters in the right manner by going into local schools and giving away free tickets as then if they like what they see they will ask there parents to bring them again and so get hooked.

All in all i think the club is heading in the right direction and with a bit of luck on the field then i am sure the crowds would come back, but what do you think?
