Rotherham United manager Alan Knill today told the Rotherham Star about our second half problems regarding his midfield during the Millers defeat against old enemies Chesterfield at Millmoor on Saturday.
Eugen Bopp didn’t come out for the second half after he complained of feeling unwell and is suffering from a virus.
Richie Partridge also left the pitch early following a back injury.
This left the midfield made up of 3 players who are 19 year olds and Martin Woods as the elder statesman of the Midfield at just 21.
Knill said, ‘The crowd were calling for experience and you can understand that, but they weren’t calling for experience a couple of months ago.’
‘Perhaps last year they were asking for younger players. We have to have belief in ourselves and our ability. I can understand people’s frustrations.
‘I am passionate about this football club and passionate about my players and when you don’t perform, it is disappointing.’
