Rotherham United manager, Alan Knill, today confirmed that Barnsley have made a bid for midfield player Lee Williamson.

‘I think it is a good thing that they are after our players,` he told Radio Sheffield this evening, ‘but at the end of the day it will be Lee who decides where he wants to go.
It is his decision and I think he would prefer to stay here rather than go to Barnsley. He is a loyal lad. He is in the driving seat.

‘We have had 2 offers for him from Championship clubs and plenty of enquiries from Premiership clubs.

‘He is a top player. He is only 24 and has plenty of potential and I am sure he will be a Premiership player one day.`

Talking about Williamson and Will Hoskins he said that he would be disappointed if at least one of them was not still at Millmoor at the end of January.

‘Read into that what you will,` he said.
