Rotherham United striker Jordan Hugill got his first goals for the Millers on Saturday and couldn’t be more delighted.

The first goal was a right foot strike, the second a well taken penalty after he’d been pulled down in the area. And, not only that, he was handed the captaincy against his former club Queens Park Rangers.

Speaking to Radio Sheffield the thirty year old said it was ‘brilliant’ to be off the mark since coming to the New York Stadium in January saying, ‘Today’s not about me, it’s about everyone involved. The lads were brilliant including the ones who came on, I’m proud of them today.

‘It is nice to get on the score sheet but ultimately I think my performances in the last few games have been just as important.’

And I think he’s right. In my opinion he’s been solid whilst playing with a chest infection and might not have been getting the ball in the net but has been there to help others and keep defenders on their toes.

‘I came here to keep this team in this league,’ Jordan carried on, ‘and I think I’ve been helping towards that. I don’t want us to get complacent now, I want us to keep pushing and climb as high as we can in the table and to keep progressing as a club.’

And so say all of us!
