Halifax boss Chris Wilder is the first name to be linked with the vacant managerial job at Rotherham.
Wilder has been linked with a return to the club he served as a player after guiding the Shaymen to fifth in the Conference table.
Wilder told BBC Radio Leeds: ‘I’ve never hidden my ambition to work in the Football League.
‘I’d like to do it here but I would be showing a lack of ambition if I didn’t want to get back into the League.
‘I also expect my players to show that ambition and to keep on bettering themselves.’
