Rotherham United’s newest body in the building goalkeeper Dillon Phillips told iFollow that the club didn’t need much selling to him.

‘It’s Championship football at the end of the day,’ Dillon said, ‘and something I’ve been itching to get back to since being out of the country for the last year.’

Already knowing goalkeeping coach Scott Brown with both have them having played at Cheltenham Town he spoke about Viktor Johansson saying, ‘I’ve only known him from a couple of hours training but he’s a great lad like everyone said. He looks like he’s a fans’ favourite and he’s done really well but I’m here to push him, challenge him and hopefully improve him and he’s going to be a joy to work with and I’m really looking forward to that. But when a chance comes up I’ll be letting the manager know that I’m ready to play when I’m called upon.’

Knowing Millers Manager Matt Taylor when they were both at Charlton Athletic the twenty-eight year old said, ‘We spoke a few weeks ago and once I heard what their vision was for me at this football club it was a pretty easy decision to sign.’

When asked about what sort of goalkeeper he is, Dillon said, ‘I like to make saves and be commanding and I like to keep the ball out of the net.’
