Rotherham United manager, Alan Knill, has spoken this week to Radio Sheffield.

He laughed when asked about the pressure he was now under after the last few results, ‘Pressure?’ he asked ,’the pressure has been on since the start of the season – since I first took my seat on that bench I have only had this sort of pressure.’

‘I spoke to the players after the Chesterfield game. We need courage and mental strength and it is up to the players to be mentally tough and mentally strong.

‘I take all responsibility, it’s me who picks the team – I take the plaudits and I take the criticism but I don’t listen or read what people say about me. All teams go through a poor patch and I have to re-emphasize why and how we did when we were playing well and we still have to believe in our ability and concentrate on the positives.

‘I am a coach, a football manager and I have to know what’s needed and I think it was important to bring in new faces – it will help to pick the squad up.

‘What I won’t have is negative people round me.’
