Wright ‘Excited’ To Be Here

Rotherham United’s latest loan signing Bailey Wright told iFollow is delighted to have got his loan move today.

Saying it was last night when he found out the Millers were interested in signing him, the thirty year old Australian said, ‘It’s the first time I’ve been part of a dead line day move move. The opportunity to come here and play my football at a really good club excited me.

‘Rotherham are a team I’ve played against throughout the course of my career including last season and this season and from outside looking in it seems a really good club. I’ve had some really tough games against Rotherham and it’s an intimidating place to come to as an away player. I’m excited to be on the other side now.

‘It’s nice to be here and I’m here to work, be part of the team and do what I can to push us on. And what the manager expects of me as a player is me in a nutshell. It’s an opportunity for me to come and push for a place here where there’s a good squad with healthy competition. I’ve heard it’s a good squad and that’s something that’s important to me.

‘The Championship is a tough division. I’ve not played as much football this season as I’d have liked, I’m one of those players who want to be out playing as regularly as I can and I feel it’s a really good chance for me here and to be part of something great.’

Asked about what he will bring to the Millers, he replied, ‘I’m physical, enjoying competing, enjoy defending, winning headers, making tackles and I’ll put my body on the line and give one hundred per cent. I also enjoy winning.’

Having played in the World Cup last year for Australia, Bailey said, ‘There’s a lot of achievements I’m proud of and I’ve still got big ambitions for myself. Going to the World Cup was like no other and we made history going further than any other Australian team and that’s something that will always live with me. I want more moments like that.’
