Will You Ask For Refund On Season Ticket?

Rotherham United are still unsure what league they will be playing in next season, still League One or maybe the Championship, but there has been talk about season tickets for next season (even though it is probable that the first months of that season will be played behind closed doors).

AFC Wimbledon have asked their fans to waive any refunds from this current season saying in a statement on their Official Site that by not asking for refunds for the games not played ‘will be the best possible way of helping us maintain our club’s financial stability’.

The Millers had five home games left of the 2019/20 season when the coronavirus took over which would have seen Southend United, Gillingham, Portsmouth, neighbours Doncaster Rovers and Sunderland, on the last day of the season, at the New York Stadium.

What I’m wondering if you, as a Millers fan, would ask for the money for the games you haven’t been able to see through no fault of your own?

I don’t think there is a right or wrong answer to this question as I think it mostly depends on your circumstances.

It also brings about the question that, if the club offer a season ticket for the coming season, even though we already understand that we won’t be able to see some of the games live, would you buy one?

As before I don’t think there is a right or wrong reply to this question.

What are your thoughts?

As a footnote the club have launched a new ticketing provider today and will be teaming up with Advanced.

Keep Safe.

Up The Millers.

Well, this was the first season for a long time when I didn’t get a season ticket. Not because I’m Nostradamus but I simply can’t get over to Rotherham on a regular basis. It’s a difficult question that individual supporters will have to address and I agree there’s no right or wrong here. The bigger problem is that there is no effective treatment and no vaccine at present. The virus has declined due largely to social distancing and self isolation. It hasn’t gone away and it can kill you next season just as easily as this. No way would I sit in a large crowd until we get on top of this damn thing.

I can’t even contemplate when we might be able to watch live football again.

Since the price of season tickets have not risen much since move to NYS. Why not increase the price of season tickets by the amount to be refunded. Therefore keep the price the same as last year then actually pay more the following season

I would settle for a free pie every game 😁

Well, Moz, I should put that to them – free pie with every season ticket next season! Though you might have to get there very early to queue to collect! I wonder if people with season tickets might be given free entry to cup games – when we are able to go again of course?

Not just season tickets. What about advance ticket purchases ? Fleetwood sold out, Southend and Donny tickets were selling well. Personally I hold £55 worth of match tickets currently.

Bobt, yes, of course people have those tickets. I would imagine, eventually, you will get your money back for those. We have some away tickets tucked somewhere for Southend.

No keep the money in the club I payed it out so not miss it but a couple of meat & potatoes pies but happy with that!

I went to one away game – some years ago – where if they showed their season tickets in the ‘club house’ before or after a game they got a free drink and something to eat (might have been a pie). For the life of me I can’t remember where it was.
