Will Saturday Be Our Last Game Of The Season?

Rotherham United entertain Southend United tomorrow in their next League One fixture – but might it be the last game of the season?

With the coronovirus outbreak taking it’s toll throughout the world there are serious doubts about the 2019/20 football season finishing.

With various other sporting events being cancelled/suspended like the NBA, UEFA will meet next Tuesday to discuss domestic and European competitions, which will include EURO 2020.

Last night I watched on TV the game between Manchester United take on LASK in Austria in the Europa League in front of a mostly empty stadium. It was like watching a training ground game. Not that it seemed to bother Ole Gunner Solskjaer’s men who won five-nil.

I think there are a number of options that UEFA will have regarding the domestic season. They could cancel the season altogether, there is the option to postpone the games for a few weeks and take the season into June/July starting next season a few weeks later (which probably sounds more complicated than it is), they could finish the season and play behind closed doors or they could finish the season now leaving teams where they are in the league.

Obviously, as a Miller, the latter of those three options would be the best for me – but not the best for everyone.

I do think one of the above will happen but whichever it is I’m also sure somebody is going to object.

So, what we’re asking on Vital Rotherham is what you think? Which option would you chose? What do you think will happen? Share your thoughts here with us.
