Rotherham United skipper Richard Wood has been named in the EFL Team of the Week.

Woody joined the Millers in the summer of 2014 from Charlton Athletic but only played a handful of games before he went out on loan to Crawley Town where he scored three times in ten appearances before being recalled by then Manager Steve Evans and went on to play another three games for Rotherham.

He didn’t get much of a chance the following season when he found himself out on loan again from September with at first Fleetwood Town then Chesterfield. Then Manager Neil Redfearn recalled the central defender in February 2016 and the following season was given the captains armband.

Since then Woody has played his heart out whenever he’s been in a Millers shirt and wore his magic hat at Wembley to score twice in our League One Play-Off Final against Shrewsbury.

The Millers skipper deserves his place in the Team of the Week after helping Rotherham in their one-nil home win over Derby County – Well Done!

And there might be another couple of names Millers fans recognise on the list this week too!
