What Those Stats Tell Us – Millers v Coventry

|

Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne wasn’t as impressed with his teams second half performance as he was their first last night in the one-all draw with Coventry City at their temporary home of St Andrew’s.

The first forty-five minutes saw the Millers go in front and have the majority of the play but Coventry changed tactics for the second half, scored an early goal and played as well as Rotherham had in the first. So, in the end, the stats readings of fifty per cent possession each is probably right.

The Millers won more of the aerial duels with Coventry having more per cent in the overall duels with both sides having four corners each. The teams also had equal percentage in the passing accuracy in their opponents half the stats saying it was fifty-four per cent apiece. Both the Sky Blues and Rotherham had eight shots at goal with the Millers having four on target to Coventry’s two.

Rotherham committed more fouls than their opponents – sixteen to twelve – and were shown three yellow cards to City’s one.
