What The Stats Tell Us v Bristol City

Rotherham United were down to the bare bones yesterday afternoon before their home game with Bristol City, an injury crisis meaning they could only name six substitutes, one of those not having made a first team appearance before. In the warm-up things went from bad to worse when skipper Richard Wood broke down and Will Vaulks, who took over the captains armband, got a head injury and played with a band round his head all game also meaning that the six on the bench were reduced to five.

So in the end you’d have thought that a draw would have been a good point for the Millers.

But, really, looking back on that game I think we will be thinking we should have got all three points. We had plenty of chances to score, from the first five minutes to time added on at the end of the game. All in all the Millers had twenty-one shots with six of those being on target.

Of course, the Robins also had chances with a couple of their four shots on goal hitting the woodwork.

At the end of the day are we thinking, looking at our depleted squad, that this is a point gained or being a home game could it be two points dropped?
